2 Month Resolution Check-in
Hi friends!!
How’s it going for you? In case you didn’t know, I live in Kansas. The weather is Kansas is a bit finicky. Over the past 6 days we’ve had a total of 20+ inches of snow!!

With all the snow, I had plenty of down time on my hands. It was nice to get a little break from the normal routine, but I was ready to get out of the house.
February is almost gone, and that means we are 1/6 of the way through the year!! 60 days gone, and about 300 days to go. Time to check in on the New Year’s Resolutions.
Let’s refresh our memory…
So what will my resolutions be? Putting them in concrete….
1.) Hit ONE-derland
2.) Create a steady workout routine (5-6 days of exercise)
3.) Expand my yoga practice (master 5 new poses)
4.) Create 2 new healthy recipes a month
5.) Read 75 books
Updates:
1) I’m not even close to ONE-derland. If I’m honest, I might actually be a little farther in the other direction. After I get the riot act from my doctor (and mandatory 3 month check ups), this goal seems to be a bit more clear. Reaching this goal will be tough, but still achievable.
2) A steady workout routine? What’s that? I alluded to the fact that I’ve started another at home program. I am really enjoying it so far, but I still need more work. I’ve got a super secret 6th goal I’ve just agreed to, but you’ll have to wait a few months to find out what it is!! (And I’m not freakin pregnant. Never in a million year!!!)
3.) Expanding my yoga practice might be the only goal I’ve worked on so far. I’ve tried a new studio in town, and I am reading some super interesting books pertaining to the spiritual and mental side of yoga (as opposed to just the physical practice).
4.) New healthy recipes…yea, about that. I have tried some awesome new recipes, but I haven’t actually created any myself. I guess you could call this a technical success?

5.) Read 75 books. I think I’m up to 5. Way behind schedule. I’m currently reading another ‘romance’ novel my cousin reviewed on her blog, and the currect book club choice ‘Thunder Dog‘ .
For a 2 month check in, I award myself a : C- .
Moving backwards on the most important goal definitely took me down a notch, and only halfheartedly trying for my other 4 ( 5 now!!) goals is not great.
Have you stuck with your resolutions or goals? How are they coming along?

I am going to plan on making some serious ‘new year resolutions’ come Sunday, on my day of birth! The start of MY new year! I’ll let you know what all I decide
Next 2 months, I see you rocking it. A++!!
Can’t wait to hear what they are!! I love that you are busting the mold, and making the year when and how you want it. This is going to be a big, BIG year for you lady!! I’m so glad I can share a big experience with you. And thank you for supporting me in my super secret new goal!!!
WOOT! tee hee hee!
Samantha, I can totally sympathize with you. I’m terrible about developing a fitness routine. I’ll be great about going to the gym for a month and then miss a couple days and it takes me another month to get back on track.
I am kicking ass at my reading and writing goals though!
What ‘romance’ book are you reading?
As far as recipes, I adapt a lot of recipes I see online for my own tastes. For instance, I found a roasted cauliflower and leek soup that called for cashews to add the creaminess, but I opted for cannellini beans. Still vegan, still yummy!
Getting into a routine with something that you ‘so so’ about is tough. I haven’t been writing like I should either. So much for 500 words a day! Lol
I’m reading that book “Beautiful Bastard” that I saw on your page yesterday. Love that genre. I am enjoying the story line and plentiful ‘romance’ – wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
I never considered just adapting the recipes!! That’s an awesome idea! And that soup sounds amazing. Can’t wait to try it!!
Here’s the soup recipe! http://mollyandmorgan.wordpress.com/2013/02/27/spicy-vegan-cauliflower-leek-soup/
January and February suck!! I would just as soon omit them from the calendar!! Once the sun comes out and the air gets warmer you’ll get back on track!
Agreed!! I can’t wait for walking weather!
